CLEANING
Maintain your boots by cleaning them regularly. Dirt and mud should be brushed off once it has dried naturally, you can then wipe with a clean damp cloth if necessary.
Never wash your boots in a washing machine. Immersion in and exposure to detergents can loosen the stitching and damage bonding agents within your boots
DRYING
Once you've cleaned your boots, you should dry them slowly using natural air circulation at room temperature. Damp leather is sensitive to heat, and harsh drying causes hardening and distortion. Never put wet shoes in front of a fire or on a radiator. Let them dry naturally at room temperature. Paper can be used to stuff the product in the drying process to help absorb moisture and maintain the shape.
WATERPROOF LININGS
If you have a pair of boots with a waterproof treatment such as GORE-TEX or DRYGUARD, the leather must regularly be treated with waterproofing and conditioning sprays or creams. The leather will experience gradual loss of its water resistance after repeat use in wet environments, and if untreated the leather will slowly harden and crack
GENERAL BOOT CARE
Your boots should be stored in a dry environment at room temperature when they're not in use. Laces should be replacement when they start to fray to ensure your boots keep the correct shape
Boot polishes are designed to feed the leather, protect your boots from water damage and to shine your boots. These are available as wax or creams.
