We're always careful about which brands we bring in. Every name on our shelves has to earn its place. It has to be kit we'd carry ourselves, kit that stands up to the people who use it hardest, and kit that gives our customers genuine value for money.
So we're pleased to announce a major new addition: we are now a Highlander dealer, stocking one of the largest ranges of Highlander clothing, gear and equipment in the UK. That covers the Highlander Outdoor and Highlander Forces lines, plus their premium tactical sub-brand, STOIRM Tactical.
One family, 40 years of Scottish outdoor and tactical heritage, and well over a hundred new lines live on site.
Who Is Highlander?
Highlander was founded in 1985, at a time when getting into the outdoors meant paying a premium for it. The founding idea was a simple one and it's still the thread running through everything they make: the hills, the coast and the wild places should be open to everyone, not just those with deep pockets.
Four decades on, Highlander is still a family-run business, now in its second generation, based just outside Edinburgh in Livingston. Their gear is designed and field-tested in some of the most punishing terrain the UK has to offer, including the Cairngorms, Glencoe and the Cuillin, where four seasons in a single day is less a saying and more a scheduling problem.
That test environment matters. Kit designed for Scottish weather has to handle sideways rain, wind, cold and damp as standard, not as an edge case. It's also why the brand has grown well beyond hillwalking into serious tactical and military-inspired equipment.
Highlander are also signatories of the Armed Forces Covenant, holding Silver Award status. That's a commitment we're glad to see from a supplier serving the military community.
Highlander Forces: Tactical Kit That Doesn't Break the Bank
Highlander Forces is the tactical and military arm of the business, and it's the side of the range most of our customers will get the most from. Highlander Outdoor covers the civilian hillwalking and camping end. In practice the two overlap heavily, and our Highlander collection pulls the best of both together.
Clothing
The clothing range is where the value really shows. The Halo Smock and Stryker Jacket sit at the top end, backed by the Tactical Softshell Jacket for year-round wear. For layering there's the Tactical Ember Fleece, the Tactical Hirta Fleece, the Combat T-Shirt and Thermal Long Johns.
On trousers, the Magnum Tactical Trousers and the classic M65 Trousers cover both ends of the requirement.
And for foul weather, the Stormguard Jacket, the Stow & Go Packaway Jacket and the PVC Poncho are hard to argue with.
Headwear is the sleeper hit here: the Deluxe Watch Hat and standard Watch Hat, the Fleece Beanie and the Polar Fleece Neck Warmer.
Boots and Socks
The Elite Forces Boots are a proven leather patrol boot, and there's a Junior version too, which is genuinely useful for cadet detachments. The sock range covers the full spread: Norwegian Army Socks, Claymore Socks, Crusader Socks, Taskforce Socks and Combat Socks. There's also a Breather Boot Bag for keeping wet boots away from the rest of your kit.

This is the deepest part of the range, and it scales from day carry right up to full expedition loads.

STOIRM Tactical: The Premium End of the Range
STOIRM, Gaelic for "storm", is Highlander's premium tactical sub-brand, and it's the one we think will turn the most heads.
STOIRM was created to bridge three worlds that usually sit in separate boxes: EDC, tactical, and outdoor. The brand describes itself as born in the fusion between the Edinburgh metropolis and Scotland's toughest mountains, and the result is utility-focused, sustainably designed, with versatility at its core.
The standout feature is the STOIRM ECO-SYSTEM: a modular, removable pouch and accessory platform that lets you configure your kit around the task rather than around the bag. Pouches, MOLLE panels and dividers clip in and out, so the same pack works for a covert day carry, a range day, a shift, or a weekend away.

The two Tactical Backpacks are the natural entry point. The 25L handles day carry and the 40L takes over when you need to bring more with you. Both use laser-cut MOLLE panelling front and side, with a Velcro admin panel up top for patches and ID.
The Messenger Bag is the one to look at if your carry needs to stay low-profile. Twin laser-cut panels, a clean silhouette, and enough structure to work as a covert grab bag or a day-to-day work bag.
The 50L Duffel handles the bulk transport end, with full-length MOLLE panelling, compression straps and backpack carry straps for when you're moving kit any real distance. The optional Duffel Bag Divider splits the interior so clean and dirty kit stay apart.
On the clothing side, the Primaloft Thermal Jacket is the flagship piece. Primaloft insulation, a low-bulk cut that layers cleanly under a shell or over a base layer, and sleeve pockets set up for patches.
And the Utility Pouch, Pouch V2 and Molle Panel are the easy way in. They let you start building into the ECO-SYSTEM without committing to a full pack.
STOIRM is engineered specifically for military personnel, law enforcement and outdoor professionals working in demanding environments, which is more or less a description of the TacTree customer base.
