Why leather
Full-grain leather is quiet, durable and comfortable against the body, and a well-made sheath moulds to its tool over the first few weeks of wear until the fit is exact. Leather sheaths suit belt carry at work, on the farm or in the field, and pair naturally with a traditional leather belt. They are also the usual choice for a presentation or engraved tool, where the sheath is part of the gift.
Fit and models
Leatherman's leather sheaths are sized to the tool, with options for the Wave+, Charge+, Surge, Signal, Rebar and Skeletool, in natural and brown finishes with a press-stud or snap closure. Belt loops accept belts up to 50 mm (2 in). Each product page lists the tools a sheath is designed for; a sheath cut for a smaller tool will not take a larger one.
Looking after a leather sheath
Leather needs little care beyond keeping it dry and occasionally applying a leather conditioner. Avoid soaking it or drying it against direct heat, which stiffens and cracks the hide. A sheath looked after this way will outlast several tools.
