Make more of a multi-tool

A good multi-tool is a platform rather than a finished product. A bit kit turns the built-in driver into a full set of screwdrivers and hex keys, an extender reaches recessed fixings, a pocket clip changes how the tool is carried and a sharpener keeps the blade working as it should. The accessories here are chosen to fit the Leatherman and Gerber tools sold at TacTree and are genuine parts from those manufacturers.

Bit kits and drivers

Leatherman's flat double-ended bits fit the bit driver on the Wave+, Charge+, Surge, Signal, Skeletool, MUT and others, and the 42-piece bit kit and bit driver extender cover virtually every fastener. Gerber's Center-Drive takes standard 6.35 mm (1/4 in) hex bits, so any bit set will fit it.

Sharpeners and maintenance

Pocket and field sharpeners with diamond, ceramic and carbide elements restore the edge on multi-tool blades, folding knives and fixed blades, and a drop of light oil on the pivots keeps the tool opening smoothly. Regular maintenance is the difference between a tool that lasts five years and one that lasts twenty-five.

Clips, rings and replacement parts

Pocket clips and lanyard rings are available for most Leatherman models and change the way a tool is carried without a sheath. Genuine replacement wire cutters, handle scales, pocket clips and sheaths keep a tool in service and are often the quickest way to resolve wear that would otherwise mean a warranty claim.
